GROUP CLASSES
Group Yoga
The Sorting Room’s group classes are small, thoughtfully guided yoga sessions that blend the precise alignment and prop-supported approach of Hatha yoga practices, offering Iyengar and Knoff style classes.
Classes run for 60–90 minutes and are designed to offer individual attention within a group setting, with an emphasis on safe progression, steady development, and inner awareness rather than fast-paced flow or performance.
Students can expect the use of props such as blocks, belts, bolsters, blankets, and chairs to support correct alignment and make each posture accessible to different bodies and abilities. We offer close observation, detailed adjustments, and constructive feedback to help refine each pose with care and clarity. Postures are often held for longer, allowing students to build strength, understand the structure of the asana, and deepen their connection to breath and attention.
Each class is more than a physical practice, typically weaving together meditation, pranayama, asana, relaxation, and yogic philosophy. This creates a well-rounded experience that supports not only strength, flexibility, and balance, but also nervous system regulation, mental steadiness, and personal insight.
These classes are especially suited to people seeking a structured and group supported approach to yoga.
