Group Yoga

The Sorting Room’s group classes are small, thoughtfully guided yoga sessions that blend the precise alignment and prop-supported approach of Hatha yoga practices, offering Iyengar and Knoff style classes.

Classes run for 60–90 minutes and are designed to offer individual attention within a group setting, with an emphasis on safe progression, steady development, and inner awareness rather than fast-paced flow or performance.

Students can expect the use of props such as blocks, belts, bolsters, blankets, and chairs to support correct alignment and make each posture accessible to different bodies and abilities. We offer close observation, detailed adjustments, and constructive feedback to help refine each pose with care and clarity. Postures are often held for longer, allowing students to build strength, understand the structure of the asana, and deepen their connection to breath and attention.

Each class is more than a physical practice, typically weaving together meditation, pranayama, asana, relaxation, and yogic philosophy. This creates a well-rounded experience that supports not only strength, flexibility, and balance, but also nervous system regulation, mental steadiness, and personal insight.

These classes are especially suited to people seeking a structured and group supported approach to yoga.

Private Yoga

private yoga class at The Sorting Room is a personalised, one‑to‑one session designed around your unique body, needs, and goals. Each class begins with a thoughtful check‑in and is then guided with precision, clarity, and care.

The practice is slow, structured, and highly supportive, with postures carefully broken down and refined through detailed instruction, hands‑on guidance, and the intelligent use of props. Rather than rushing, you’re given the time and space to understand each movement deeply and safely.

Beyond the physical, the session weaves together breath, awareness, and nervous system support, helping you build strength, steadiness, and a deeper mind–body connection. You’ll often leave with a simple, personalised home practice to support your ongoing progress.

Ultimately, a private class at The Sorting Room is a therapeutic and educational experience—supporting not just how you move, but how you feel, think, and live.

Memberships ( Coming Soon)

A membership at The Sorting Room is not simply about attending more classes — it is a commitment to a way of practising, and a way of living. At its heart, yoga is not a one‑off experience, but a steady, ongoing inquiry — one that unfolds through consistency, patience, and the willingness to return, again and again, to yourself. Membership supports this deeper process. It creates the conditions where real change becomes possible.

Through regular practice, what we teach begins to move beyond the mat:

  • the nervous system learns to settle more easily

  • the mind becomes clearer and less reactive

  • awareness deepens, and with it, choice and self‑understanding

This is the work of yoga as we see it — not quick fixes or peak experiences, but gradual, lasting transformation from the inside out.

Becoming a member means stepping into a shared space of intention. You practise alongside others who are also choosing to slow down, pay attention, and live more consciously. Over time, this creates a quiet but powerful sense of support — a community grounded not in performance, but in honesty, presence, and growth.

In this way, membership reflects the traditional idea of Sangha — a supportive community that strengthens individual practice while reminding us we are not doing the work alone.

It also supports the integrity of our teaching. A membership model allows us to:

  • prioritise depth over volume

  • keep classes small and attentive

  • honour yoga as a lifelong practice, rather than a drop‑in experience

Ultimately, becoming a member is a decision to stay with the practice long enough for it to begin working on you — gently sorting through what no longer serves, and making space for a more grounded, steady, and connected way of being.

Membership includes:

  • Unlimited studio classes

  • 10% off private sessions and workshops

  • One free private lesson valued at $120 at point of purchase

  • Minimum 8‑week commitment

  • 2‑week notice period for cancellation
